2022 Ohio Senior Olympics

Tournament Details

• The archery event for Ohio Senior Games will be in conjunction with the Ohio Archers Association 900 Round event on August 20, 2022 in Sugarcreek.
• Athletes should be on site one hour prior to the start of competition.
• There is a mandatory shooter’s meeting at 10:30 a.m.
• The event will begin at 11:00 a.m.
• Water and food will be available for purchase.
• YOU MUST REGISTER FOR THE COMPETITION HERE by JULY 30, 2022
• The registration fee is $35 payable to OAA at the time of registration.
• During the registration process, you will read and acknowledge the OSO waiver.
• IF you want an OSO t-shirt, you must select the size when you register. The t-shirt will be available for pick up from the OSO representative on-site. The t-shirt is an additional $15.00 fee on top of your registration fee. You will pay for the t-shirt on site to the OSO representative.
• To be considered for Ohio Senior Olympics medals and to qualify for the 2023 National Senior Games, athletes must register by July 30, 2022. You will be able to register for the OAA 900 Round after this date, but you will not be eligible for the Ohio Senior Olympics State Games competition.
• Ohio Senior Olympics does not allow on-site registration for any event.
• There will be five styles:
  • Recurve – with sights
  • Barebow Recurve – no sights
  • Compound Fingers – with sights
  • Barebow Compound – no sights
  • Compound Release (Freestyle)
• Athletes will compete in five-year age brackets beginning with 50-54, 55-59, etc. up to 90+.

Medal Ceremony

• The medal ceremony will take place after the completion of the tournament.
• Athletes must be present to receive medals. They will not be mailed.

Qualifying for National Senior Games

• All first-, second-, third- and fourth-place winners or athletes meeting this sport’s NSGA – 900 round minimum performance standards in competition at a 2022 NSGA qualifying games will qualify for the 2023 National Senior Games.
• An archer may enter only the style in which he/she has qualified.
• 2023 Minimum Performance Standards (MPS) are based on results from the previous National Senior Games.

General Athlete Information

• All details and events are subject to change based on registration numbers, weather conditions, venue availability, and other reasons.
• Withdrawals and no shows will negatively impact brackets and heats.
• Absolutely no day-of registration is permissible.
• ALL athletes competing in the Ohio Senior Olympics (OSO) are expected to read and comply with the:
  • Athlete Code of Conduct
  • State Competition Protest Policy
  • General Rules for the State Games
• All rules, policies, and the code of conduct can be found on the OSO website: Ohio Senior Olympics Rules and Policies
• Athletes should know and understand the rules specific to their sport. The OSO uses the rules book created by the National Senior Games Association for those sports that are offered at the National Senior Games. Rules for those events not offered at the National Senior Games are those of the official organizing body.
