Location Information:

This year the shoot will be at Ashland Bowmen, 1930 County Rd. 1035, Ashland, Ohio and there are a number of new things.

  • Single day event.
  • New format - full field round only.

This is a link to the club info on our site. Our website info includes a link to their website and Google maps for a location/directions. Registration is limited so register early to guarantee yourself a shooting spot. This link will show you nearby hotels. The event location is very close to Ashland University so there will be plenty of places to stay if you need to stay overnight. Shooting time is a shoot gun start at 10am. There will be a practice range setup. First target is practice. Practice ends at the start of the shooters' meeting. Shooters' meeting will be 1/2 hour prior to start of the tournament.

This shoot will go on rain or shine and will only pause for lighting.

Fee Information:

Early Bird Registration: If you register prior to July 17th @ 12 midnight to avoid the $10 late fee. Almost enough money to get that new 2024 OAA t-shirt or ball cap at the shoot. Register early, save some money and help us make a better shoot.

  • YOU MUST ARRIVE 1 HOUR OR SOONER before the start. If you arrive at 9:30 or after, we cannot guarantee you a shooting spot, so please plan ahead.

  • We will also have the rules printed out for you to take on the course with you.
  • Water will be placed along the course and Ashland Bowmen will be serving food. There will be no break. If you want to stop for food/water that is a decision your group makes.
  • After shooting, all shooters will turn in their score cards & placings will be posted on our website at a later time. Awards for Ohio Archers members will be available for pick up at the next shoot in August.

You must be registerted prior to the shooting meeting on Saturday. Practice range will be open prior to the shoot. Show up 1 hour prior to shooting time to complete registration. Awards will not be presented immediately after the shoot completion and will be available at the next shoot. This shoot will go on rain or shine and will only pause for lighting. Ohio Senior Olympics

This year’s events for Archery will be a partnership between the Ohio Senior Olympics and the Ohio Archers Association.

CLASSES/EVENTS:

  •        Recurve – with sights
  •        Barebow Recurve – no sights
  •        Compound Fingers – with sights
  •        Barebow Compound – no sights
  •        Compound Release (Freestyle)

Registration Information: Registration for these events will be through the Ohio Archers Association event website. 

  • Archery event fees of $35 are due at time of registration.
  • Ohio Senior Olympics Dri-fit T-shirt optional for $15.
    • T-shirts will be preordered during registration, please indicate T-shirt size.    
    • T-shirts will be picked up and paid for at the event.  An OSO representative will accept Cash or PayPal only at the 900 Tournament. 
  • We can take registrations until August 17th. We can only take t-shirt orders until August 11th to guarantee a shirt on event day.

Tournament Details

YOU MUST ARRIVE 1 HOUR OR SOONER before the start. If you arrive at 9:30 or after, we cannot guarantee you a shooting spot, so please plan ahead.

This event will be rain or shine. This the last event of the year for Ohio Archers Association and a favor among many shooters. Show up an 1 hour to the start of the event. There is plenty of space to setup a canopy tent to keep cool from the sun or dry from the rain. Ohio Archers Association will have their Awards ceremonies immediately after scores have been calculated. This includes all year end awards: , Shooter of the Year & Super Slam.

The Miller Family has a concession stand on site with a pavilion and home cooked Amish food. Really a great setup. Even swings and stuff for kids. You can read more about this event by following this link.

  • Actual Event: 10:00am
  • Shooters Meeting: 9:30am

 Medal Ceremony

  • The medal ceremony will take place after the completion of the shooting event and scores have been calculated.
  • Must be present to receive medals. They will not be mailed.

Qualifying for National Senior Games

  • 2024 is a qualifying year for 2025 National Senior Games

OSO Athlete Information

  • All details and events are subject to change based on registration numbers, weather conditions, venue availability, and other reasons. 
  • Withdrawals and no shows will negatively impact brackets and heats.  
  • Absolutely no day-of registration is permissible.  
  • We will be following the refund policy of the Ohio Archers Association.
  • ALL athletes competing in the Ohio Senior Olympics (OSO) are expected to read and comply with the:
    • Athlete Code of Conduct
    • State Competition Protest Policy
    • General Rules for the State Games  
  • All rules, policies, and the code of conduct can be found on the OSO website: Ohio Senior Olympics Website
  • Athletes should know and understand the rules specific to their sport. The OSO uses the rules book created by the National Senior Games Association for those sports that are offered at the National Senior Games. Rules for those events not offered at the National Senior Games are those of the official organizing body. 

OSO Liability Waiver

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the Ohio Senior Olympics Inc. State Games and National Senior Games Association, Inc. program, its related events, and activities, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

1.    The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death, and while particular skills, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,

2.    I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,

3.    I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation.  If, however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the Company immediately; and,

4.    I, for myself  and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY  RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE  Ohio Senior Olympics Inc and the National Senior Games Association, their officers, officials, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used for the activity ("Releasees"), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5.    I give my permission for the free use of my name, likeness, voice, and/or photograph in any broadcast, telecast, newsprint, website, social media, marketing material or any other account of these events.

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.
